A workshop exploring the new global brand positioning of Vodafone through a creative writing workshop informed by feminist STS and critical pedagogy. The slogan [The Future is Exciting. Ready?] for Vodafone’s global ‘brand positioning’ is given a close reading, word-by-word, to tease out the stories and points-of-view baked into its meaning. In response to this deconstruction and inspired by the Letters to the Editor pages of Wireless World magazine, the participants write letters (of complaint, admiration, concern, etc.) to an organisation responsible for some aspect of internet technology, anticipated or already existing.
